Forseeing death

Corpse in the Crystal Ball (Fortune Teller Mystery #2) by Kari Lee Townsend.

When last we saw charming psychic Sunny Meadows, she had just cleared her name as the prime suspect in a murder, and had been asked by the mayor of Divinity to be on call as the police psychic.

Detective Mitch Stone is not thrilled by that idea, as he's quite open about his disbelief in Sunny's abilities. Nonetheless, Sunny still feels attracted to him and is thinking she might give a relationship another try when his gorgeous ex-girlfriend arrives.

Mitch says he's not interested in Isabel, but the insecure Sunny isn't so sure about that. When Isabel disappears, the police ask for Sunny's help and she has a vision of a corpse, which turns out to be Isabel, in the woods. There's a message written in the dirt near her body suggesting that Mitch is involved in the death. Although he's not arrested, he's forced to turn in his badge and gun and go on leave.

Townsend has once again created an entertaining story with well-constructed characters and plot.  If you enjoyed Tempest in the Tea Leaves, you'll love its sequel.
