I'm really bummed that I can't go to BEA, but I just discovered this cool thing called Armchair BEA. There's a specific schedule for participants to follow and today is Introduction Day.
As a means of introduction, we're asked to answer five questions, so here goes!
Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
I'm a librarian, grew up and went to library school in Canada, and now live in Southern California. I started my blog in May of 2006 (wow, just had my 6 year blogiversary and didn't even notice!).
What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?
Currently reading Paris, My Sweet by Amy Thomas.
Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
Oh, wow. I'm addicted to chocolate and to tea, preferably a strong cup of English breakfast, with milk.
What is your favorite feature on your blog (i.e. author interviews, memes, something specific to your blog)?
I don't do many memes on my blog; I just find it too hard to keep track, though I probably lose a lot of readers that way. I think my favorite thing right now is my new feature, Teen Tuesdays.
What literary location would you most like to visit? Why?
I've already been to the top one on my list: Green Gables in Prince Edward Island. The Anne series is one of my favorites. I first read it when I was 10 or 11, and still reread it occasionally.
Was wondering where you were! I have been blogging for almost five years (July) and seem to be the oldest person at ArmchairBEA. Could that be?
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Armchair BEA! I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI am a chocolate lover as well. I am so jealous that you got to visit Prince Edward Island. Have a great day!

Hi, this is my 1st armchair BEA too :) I'm addicted to chocolate, and have to say happy 6th blog anniversary lol. Will have to check out this Teen tuesday x
ReplyDeleteTea is one of those things in life that is impossible to live with out.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week.
Green Gables almost made it onto my post, but a fantasy location won out. :) I've been reading The Selected Journals of L.M. Montgomery, Volume 1, for several months (a bit at a time before bed). Have you read it? It's such a treat! The writing style is similar, and you can see Anne in a lot of her experiences.
ReplyDelete@Ann: I can't believe you're the oldest person here. I'm having trouble believing that you're older than I am.
ReplyDelete@Andi: Thanks!
@Kristin: PEI was delightful! If you ever get a chance, go.
@Beckie: Thanks! I'll pop by and read your blog in a few minutes.
@Ryan: Isn't it the truth?
@Alyce: Haven't read the Journals yet, but they're on my (very long) list.
Wow. Six years is a long time. A veteran blogger... glad you joined Armchair. Nice to meet you. I'm a librarian too. School librarian in Illinois. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Annette!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first year participating in Armchair BEA, too. I just never did before...
ReplyDeleteI would have participated before, if I'd known about it!

ReplyDeleteThere are more of us around than I expected.
