A great discovery!!!

Looking for somewhere new and different to go for dinner tonight, I did a Google search for "wine bars, Long Beach". The most interesting one I came up with was Casa Vino, which is down on Pine Street in Long Beach. I've walked by it often, but usually during the day when it is closed.
It's pretty cool. A fairly small space, minimally designed and furnished, but it works. They also display some original art there.
There was a family party going on when we got there, and due to the acoustics of the place it seemed pretty loud, but it wasn't annoying.
The proprietor, Mary, knows her stuff. Her pairing recommendations were spot-on. The small plates were reasonably priced, especially since we were there during happy hour (5-7 p.m.) Wine by the glass is $2 off during happy hour, too. There are some unusual appetizers, such as the toasted fromaggio, a wedge of warmed brie with honey melted over it, sprinkled with toasted almond chunks. Yummy!!!
Service was great. The food was fantastic. Small wine list, but good wine list.
I'm definitely going back!
