Twenty-five random things...

I've now been tagged twice in this meme that's making the rounds on Facebook, so I thought I'd kill three birds with one meme.

1. I considered just adding to the Sixteen Random Things meme I completed last month, but apparently that's cheating.

2. I am a classic middle child.

3. Going to library school was the second-best life-changing decision I ever made.

4. Marrying Tod was the best.

5. I look forward to being a grandmother, but I'm in no rush.

6. Not only am I lactose-intolerant, the idea of drinking milk makes me gag.

7. I started finding gray hairs on my head when I was 21.

8. My favourite author of all time is Jane Austen.

9. I love to read mystery novels.

10. I love playing Trivial Pursuit.

11. I have all sorts of trivial information in my head, but usually not the answer
to a Trivial Pursuit question.

12. It's really hard to think of 25 random things.

14. I don't like wearing socks and shoes. I don't mind wearing footwear with no socks or socks with no shoes, though.

15. I'm glad I started knitting again, because I've made some wonderful new friendships through it.

16. I like the dark-chocolate-covered Altoids.

17. And dark-chocolate-covered Digestive Biscuits.

18. Continuing in the chocolate thread, my favourite chocolate bar is Coffee Crisp, which is nearly impossible to find in the U.S.

19. Red wine gives me migraines.

20. I like white wine better, anyway.

21. Tod and I bought our wedding rings at the Orange County Swap Meet.

22. I like sappy love stories.

23. I cry too easily.

24. Did I mention that thinking of 25 things is hard?

I recently broke down and joined Facebook, and discovered a lot of friends and acquaintances were already in residence.
Toni tagged me in the Sixteen Random Things About Me meme, and I thought answering it would be a good way to start the New Year, so here's my list.

1. My favourite colour is purple.

2. I prefer to use Canadian/British spellings.

3. I am lactose-intolerant.

4. I have a wonderful memory for trivia, but can't remember important things like where I left my favourite sweater.

5. Toni's list reminded me that I, too, own a tribble. It's hanging from a magnet on my refrigerator.

6. People tell me I have a beautiful smile, but I just think it's goofy.

7. I'm not a big fan of the feline species, but I dote on our family's cat Nacht.

8. I can recite a good portion of the movie "The Princess Bride" from memory.

9. Contrary to all evidence, I'm not a pack-rat.

10. Thinking of sixteen random tidbits of information about myself that are not completely uninteresting is hard.

11. Although I grew up in Edmonton, I'm not really an Oilers fan. I prefer the Toronto Maple Leafs.

12. I really, really, really hate being cold.

13. I miss being a children's librarian, because I love to perform stories.

14. After divorcing my first husband, I never expected to be married again.

What was I doing 10 years ago?

Hmmm.... 10 years ago was June 1998. I was living in a small town in Northern Saskatchewan, and wishing I lived almost anywhere else.

Five things on my to-do list today:

1. Go to the nursery and get annuals for the front flower beds.
2. Pick up stuff for dinner.
3. Order blocking mats.
4. Restart the Lace Ribbon Scarf and not make any mistakes.
5. Exercise.

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

1. Pay off all my bills.
2. Pay off the house.
3. Invest.
4. Go on a round-the-world cruise with Tod.
5. Buy a house in a temperate climate for my parents.

Five jobs I have had:

1. Piano teacher.
2. Secretary/receptionist in a real estate office.
3. Receptionist in a doctor's office.

1. I hate to be left out.
2. Saying what people want to hear.
